AND THE PUPPY HOWLS

And the puppy howls, E. P. Lee, REVIEWS

It ain't about a dog!

Join Eric Paul Lee as he takes his first steps on a “LEAVING LAS VEGAS” meets “MADAGASCAR” dystopian journey through modern American Life.

When Eric’s life fell apart, he bought a puppy. And though one scampering, howling, messing little friend couldn’t make everything alright, it was a new start when his life had sort of stopped. One by one, he’d lost them all: his health, his lover, his man’s-best-friend – the puppy’s predecessor, Ziggy – one by one, until he had nothing left but his waterfront house in Miami and the memories that haunt it.

Now, with the puppy by his side, Eric’s got a lot of healing to do, but how to start?

“And the Puppy Howls” is the story of being hit by everything modern American life can throw at you, and who, and what, comes next.

So glad I read this. Wasn't quite sure what this book may be about… I understand this author. At least in MY own way; have felt many if not all of what he did… Makes you want to keep on reading. Feelings dare expressed in many books.

This is a refreshing heartfelt and honest book. I really appreciate the compassion at the center of the author's message and his good intentions show through the story as it unfolds. The writing is honest, like the story: straight-talking and to the point. This is someone who has lived life and understands its little delicacies.

If you are looking for something true and simple you could do a lot worse.

It's not going to surprise you to hear that I was skeptical as soon as the idea of a love triangle was introduced, but the author actual makes this familiar trope far more interesting than you might imagine. That sense of complicating and making more interesting seemingly mundane themes runs throughout the work and I was left with a sense that, like life, beneath the surface of this artwork lay issues deeper than an innocent bystander could possibly imagine.

Kind of strange style that makes you read way more than you expect to in a sitting but that's good because it shows how into the book I got.

Great Book.

Funny book by a funny guy. I liked the author's style and he made me laugh a lot. The characters are really good. It is not all fun though because there are many pains too for the characters which makes it a better book.

"Sometimes you just get the right book at the right moment and this was it for me. The stories in the press, the stories in the book, everything ties up and I felt like I was meant to read this book right now. If you believe in kismet, then maybe you were meant to be reading this review right now.

Great and unexpected read that has a lot more to it than I first expected. There's real depth to the story and the author does a great job of keeping the story moving. Really recommend it as something different.

What an unexpected pleasure. Not the book I'd expected to read at all but a jolly good one all the same. It's a rare treat when a book pops out of nowhere and packs a punch. E. P. Lee has done a truly excellent job at writing a book which flows with an engaging stream of consciousness style and which explores a great many issues of today's world.

Bravo.
